Clearwater Hockey Days

Stefanie Poisson

The Acting Mayor and Council would like to invite your organization and those within it to celebrate Clearwater Hockey Days with them.

Hockey is an undeniable part of Canada – it’s in our blood and it identifies us around the globe. In celebration of this event we are asking local businesses, groups and schools to be involved by encouraging staff, students and friends to wear a jersey, hat or shirt to support their favorite team during the week of January 18 to January 24, 2016.

Please take pictures of your group and email them to rmayer@docbc.ca to enter to win Kamloops Blazers Tickets and Dinner at Boston Pizza for 8 people.

Activities will include hockey games which include all age groups (children, men and women). On Friday night, January 22nd, 2016 there is a FREE Family Skate sponsored by Wadlegger Logging, and we are encouraging everyone that attends to wear a Hockey Jersey. There will also be teams arriving from other communities to play through the weekend of January 23 and 24. On Saturday night, Minor Hockey will be selling tickets towards a $500 cash prize to be drawn after the 2nd period of the 6:30 pm game.

During Clearwater Hockey Days, children will be encouraged to enter into a coloring contest to win an Arena Party package – Hockey School Certificates and 2016 Women’s World Hockey Championship tickets. Friday, January 22nd at 4:45 pm and Sunday, January 24th at 4:15 pm there is a FREE Family Skate.

Through healthy communities, it is important to promote physical activities and hockey is a big part of our community in the winter months. We look forward to you joining in on community spirit and participating by either wearing a Hockey Jersey or taking in some of the activities at the North Thompson Sportsplex during this week. For further information please contact the North Thompson Sportsplex at 250-674-2143.

Yours truly,

Barry Banford, Councillor

Acting Mayor

District of Clearwater
