Emergency Preparedness

Household Emergency Plan

As part of the PreparedBC resource library, Emergency Management BC has developed a new Household Emergency Plan. This 12 page resource provides British Columbians with useful planning tips and a ‘fill in the blank’ template to create their own household emergency plan. The attached document is designed to either be filled out electronically or by hand and printed on standard 8.5×11 paper.

The PreparedBC: Household Emergency Plan was designed as a companion resource to the PreparedBC: Household Preparedness Guide and the In It Together: Neighbourhood Preparedness Guide. In both of these guides, creating a household emergency plan is a critical step to household and neighbourhood preparedness. Fire Smart

FireSmart is about Individual homeowners (private land owners) and the wider community taking simple steps to reduce the impact of wildfires within their neighbourhood and community. The District of Clearwater has recently been successful in obtaining a grant to work towards becoming a FireSmart Community – this can be achieved by educating our community on FireSmart practices. We are in the early steps of forming the committee and will keep you posted.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact Mike Smith, Fire Chief for District of Clearwater at 250-674-1278 or by emailing: msmith@docbc.ca.
