COUNCIL DECISIONS – January 17, 2017

For background information on the following Council Decisions, please review the January 17, 2017 Regular Council Meeting Agenda (which is posted on the website the Friday afternoon prior to the Tuesday Council meeting) here.

  • Council directed staff to write to the Clearwater & District Chamber of Commerce to inquire about obtaining the rights to the current Chamber of Commerce signs on the north and south ends of Clearwater
  • Council agreed to provide liability insurance for contract recreation instructors through the Municipal Insurance Association’s Associate Member Program, with the costs of the liability insurance of $250 for the 2017 year being allocated from the Community Recreation Healthy Living budget
  • Council directed staff to move forward with a Request for Proposal to upgrade the District’s website content as per the Website Audit and Recommendations report presented by Fresh Inc on January 10, 2017, with the funds to complete this project to be allocated from the Economic Development (NTEDS) Reserve Fund
  • Council approved entering into a partnership with the Thompson-Nicola Regional District to complete a Fire Service Review on the District’s Volunteer Fire Department, with the funds, in the amount of $8,000, to be expended from the 2016 Fire Department surplus
  • Council approved the appointment of the Municipal Insurance Association as the providers for the District’s liability insurance for 2017, in the amount of $15,406, to be expended from the 2017 Five-Year Financial Plan
  • Council approved the appointment of the Municipal Insurance Association as the providers for the District’s property insurance for 2017, in the amount of $56,326, to be expended from the 2017 Five-Year Financial Plan
