Council highlights provide a summary of key decisions made by Council during regularly scheduled meetings. Complete agenda packages and meeting minutes can be found on our website.
• Council heard from Candus Graffunder, Director, Wells Gray Riders Association about the 4th Annual Man Tracker Invitational and requested funding from Council in the amount of $500 to help pay the cost of their Celebrity Guest Speaker Terry Grant. Council asked Administration to bring a report and recommendation to the next Council meeting.
• Council approved the 2017 Statements of Financial Information which will be forwarded to the Ministry and posted for public information.
• Council received the 2017 Carbon Neutral Progress Survey for information and directed staff to transfer the District’s 2017 CARIP rebate received by the Province in to the Greenhouse Gas Emission Reduction Projects Reserve Fund.
• Council approved installation cost overruns for the Bio-Mass Plant at the North Thompson Sportsplex in the amount of $54,771.59. These costs were mostly due to the fact that the plant had to be moved from its original location.
• The 2018-2019 Water and Sewer User Fee bylaws were formally adopted by Council. The Water Bylaw provides for a 5% fee increase to water tolls and the Sewer Bylaw provides for a 10% fee increase to sewer tolls for the next two years.
• Council formally adopted an amendment bylaw regarding District of Clearwater Officers and Delegation of Authority – this is to address new staff positions.
• Council approved providing a letter of support to the Simpcw First Nation in their application to the Enabling Accessibility Fund to support building a new Administration, Health, School complex in their community.
• Council directed Administration to prepare a Press Release with respect to In Camera discussions on Council acquiring the Lake Summit property (District Lot 2280).
