One of the best ways to get a glimpse of the local culture is to participate in some of the community events. Some of these are annual events like the First Fish ceremony which celebrates the return of the salmon and the local First Nations history and culture. Not to mention a tasty salmon dinner cooked the traditional way. Among other annual events are the May Day parade, the Star Gazing Festival, and Rotary Casino night just to name a few.
