Seniors Online

The Wells Gray Country Seniors Society has run a program called “Cyber Seniors” since 2015. High school students connected with local seniors to assist with their technology issues.

Recently it has come to the attention of the Seniors Coordinator that there is an organization in Ontario that has trademarked the name Cyber-Seniors. Going forward, the local group is no longer able to use that term and due to COVID-19 will not be able to meet for the foreseeable future.

However, if you are a Senior looking for tech help, this website is for you. At www.cyberseniors.org you can become a Cyber-Seniors Member, book a one-on-one tech call (a 30-minute one-on-one tech session with a young person to get help with your device) or sign up for daily webinars. Youth/ Tech-savvy individuals have the opportunity to become a Cyber-Seniors Volunteer.

Cyber-Seniors services are completely FREE to Senior and Cyber-Seniors also offer FREE memberships where you can take advantage of 1,200 self-led tutorials, videos, a discussion forum, and other resources. Sign up here.

Daily webinars include topics such as “Proper Computer Ergonomics”, “Apple, Microsoft, and Google- What makes them different?”, “What to Consider When Buying New Tech” and much more. You can watch previous webinars whenever you have time or need more insight in a specific topic.

A Community Chat takes place weekly on Tuesdays with the focus to decrease social isolation and close the generation gap. No matter your age or situation, this can be an increasingly lonely time. So, let’s get together and talk about what’s keeping us happy right now!
