Living Well Program
THE PROGRAM
The District of Clearwater in partnership with Interior Health and the Community Resource Centre has been granted funding by the UBCM to develop and implement a community health program for Clearwater and its surrounding area. The exciting new program “Living Well / Chronic Disease Prevention” is intended to provide an introduction to a variety of fitness programs, health literacy and health promotion featuring chronic illness, awareness and management. The program will provide management tools for those who require them and prevention methods for more chronic diseases through workshops, seminars and handouts using health experts in identified topics.
Over the next year each month will feature a Chronic Disease topic. FREE weekly workshops and seminars for each topic followed by physical activity will be organized for any community member to participate in. Anyone wishing to participate who may have transportation barriers, arrangements can be made to ensure your participation by calling 250-674-3530. Living Well / Chronic Disease Prevention Program Information Should you require further information on the Living Well / Chronic Disease Prevention Program or any of the workshops please don’t hesitate to contact the Living Well Coordinator.

Rotary Sportspark
In the past three months, Clearwater has seen some visible changes. A new Welcome Sign, new bus shelters and on March 31, the community will see the transformation of 4 beat up tennis courts, a battered basketball court and a very rough version of a skateboard park into our new Rotary Sportspark. The plan is exciting but the timeline is daunting. As of today, the countdown is on and the District of Clearwater and their contractors have 51 days to complete the project in order to comply with the funding criteria. Is it possible? Can it all come together to make this magic make over possible? This blog will track the progress and keep you updated on all that is happening.
