Physical distancing is a strong part of our “new normal” and everyone is asked to follow the restrictions as we head into this May Long weekend. As Dr. Bonnie Henry said: “We want a strong start, and to do that we need to stay local, stay apart and stay 100% committed to working together.”
The District Parks are open to the pubic with rules clearly posted. As this is a new reality, it may be difficult to remember and old habits take over while socializing with friends and even family from a different household.
The District office is receiving complaints about rules not followed and our Bylaw Enforcement Officer is out monitoring and reminding people to stay apart. The Provincial Health Officer and the Province of BC have empowered the municipal enforcement officers to be ambassadors for BC’s Golden Rules.
We have one goal these days and it is too keep everyone but especially our Elders and Seniors safe and our healthcare system strong; we can only achieve that if we follow all restrictions set out by the Provincial Health Officer. Being committed together today, means a stronger community tomorrow.
