COMING THIS SUMMER! Our programs for your health and well being

2020-05-26 – As some restrictions in relation to COVID-19 have been lifted, we are happy to offer in person classes again. We are using the gym at the Dutch Lake Community Centre and the field as well as the curling rink space at the Sportsplex to do so. Of course, physical distancing measures are in place at all times. Registration opens June 2, 2020.

Recreation / Healthy Living Program information:

We are doing our part by trying to provide a clean space with signage posted, equipment set up and sanitized, proper spacing, one way traffic flow and reduced class sizes. Please do your part by following the physical distancing measures as set out by the Provincial Health Officer: wash your hands when you enter the building (sanitizer supplied), keep your distance from others, do not touch your face, sneeze into your sleeve and most importantly, stay home if you feel sick. We understand that some of our participants may not feel ready to come back quite yet and therefore we would like to invite you to check out our online classes.

For those that have been following the Community Recreation Healthy Living Facebook page, you will know that we offered free online classes – TBK, Tabata, Yoga, Somatika, etc. since March. We will continue this free service to the community throughout the month of June. When the pandemic hit, Council and staff felt it was important to offer free classes and a little bit of something on the health and wellness side as an extra during the time we were asked to stay home. As we are now into Phase 2 of the Provincial Restart Plan and residents are able to enjoy more freedom when leaving their homes, we are offering a monthly membership to continue online classes. Register online for a small fee and you will be added to a private Facebook group that gives you the opportunity to keep enjoying your regular workouts.

Registration:

Registration opens June 2, 2020. To register for online classes which will start beginning of July and for regular in person classes starting in June, simply log into your BookKING account. If you have a credit from cancelled classes in March, the system easily allows you apply your credit. There is also the option of coming into the office to register in person.  Important note: We are no longer able to take your details for registration over the phone.

As Phase 2 rolls out we are continually reviewing and working through new practices of offering our standard programming. Swimming lessons and Hockey School are under review so we will not be taking registrations for these programs at this time. We will keep you posted on our website and Facebook page.

2 Ways to Register: Online at BookKING or in person at the District of Clearwater office, 209 Dutch Lake Road
