Council Highlights May 18, 2021

Council highlights provide a summary of key decisions made by Council during regularly scheduled meetings. Complete agenda packages and meeting minutes can be found here.

• Council entered into a Partnership Agreement with the Interior Health Authority – Healthy Communities Program designed to promote the health and wellness of our community citizens, and reducing risk factors for chronic disease through education. This agreement is for a one year term.
• Council appointed Leslie Groulx to the Trails Task Force Committee as a community member at large following her retirement as Chief Administrative Officer at the end of June.
• Council finalized an amendment to Master Operating Agreement with BCTransit and Yellowhead Community Services (Operator) for the provision of Transit Service within the District of Clearwater and portions of the Thompson-Nicola Regional District Area A and authorized the Mayor and Chief Administrative Officer to sign off on the Agreement.
• Council examined the provision of an Employee Family Assistant Program (EFAP) through Benefits by Design, currently offered to municipal employees, and directed that the program be expanded so that Mayor and Council can also participate in the program as of June 1st, 2021; with the expenditure to be allocated from the 2021 Legislative Budget.

The next Regular Council meeting is scheduled to be held Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. but is not open to the Public in accordance with the Public Health Order issued on December 2, 2020 for Gatherings and Events.
