Notice of Office Closure on October 31st, 2024

October 25th, 2024:
We wish to inform all residents and visitors that the District of Clearwater Office and ICBC/Motor Vehicle Office will be closed for the entire day on Thursday, October 31st, 2024. This temporary closure is necessary to allow BC Hydro to connect equipment related to the installation of our new generator systems.
During this time, Motor Vehicle, ICBC, and Municipal services will be unavailable. However, please note that our Public Works team, the Clearwater Fire Department and the North Thompson Sportsplex will be operating as usual.
The office is scheduled to reopen with regular hours on Friday, November 1st, 2024.

We are pleased to share that these new generators are anticipated to be fully commissioned and operational by the end of December 2024. Once in place, the backup power system will support the District Office and Dutch Lake Community Centre, allowing for more effective Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) operations in case of power outages. Additionally, the generator installation for Well 3 in Reginald Small Park will provide essential power to maintain our reservoir and water system during interruptions.

In response to feedback from the Legion and community members, the generator at Reginald Small Park will be relocated from its initial position between the Well pump building and the Cenotaph to a spot closer to the river. This move ensures that the area around the Cenotaph remains a respectful and serene place for public gatherings and reflection.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding as we work to improve our community’s infrastructure.
For any questions or concerns, please contact us at admin@docbc.ca.
Thank you for your patience and support.
