2021-10-18   –   Some of you may have heard of and already signed up for Voyent Alert!. So far Voyent Alert! was only available for the residents within the TNRD (Blackpool, Upper Clearwater, Birch Island and Vavenby). The District of Clearwater is excited to introduce this free emergency alert system to our area.

What is Voyent Alert? Voyent Alert! is a multipurpose notification software that allows the District of Clearwater to quickly and efficiently alert registered residents and visitors of critical emergencies (wildfires, floods, etc.) or other significant events including but not limited to road maintenance and closures, significant water leaks and/or boil notices, etc. that have the potential to impact many within the community.

How do I register for it? Registration for the service is FREE, simple and totally anonymous. Easy Self-Enrollment, no usernames or passwords are required.

Should I sign up if I don’t live within the DOC? The app allows you to set locations such as workplace, school with no limit to number of locations and you will only receive alerts that are relevant to you.

What can I expect?

  • Efficient Communication: Voyent Alert! provides easy to understand notfications giving you the critical information
  • Track Multiple Locations: Voyent Alert! allows you to create and track multiple locations such as “Kids School” or “Mom’s House”. Any event or communication related to your tracked locations will be forwarded to you along your preferred communication channel.
  • No Message Fatigue: You will only get notified when a communication is relevant to you or one of the locations you are tracking.
  • Communications Your Way: You can choose to be notified by one, several or all communication channels: Voice to landline/ mobile phone, text message, email, mobile app or District of Clearwater Facebook page.
  • Anonymity: User registration is anonymous and requires only a postal code or town name. No usernames or passwords are required. No personal information is collected. Voyent Alert! adheres to strict privacy laws in accordance with federal and provincial regulations (eg. PIPEDA and FOIPA).
