When can you water?
Odd/even number system: Limit watering activity to odd or even numbered days depending on where you live in the community as follows:
• The properties with even house numbers are allowed to water on even numbered days (e.g. July 2, 4, 6, etc.)
• The properties with odd house numbers are allowed to water on odd numbered days (e.g. July 1, 3, 5, etc.).
Watering hours:
Watering hours are between 6:00 am to 8:00 am and from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm
• Watering is not allowed between the hours of 8:00 am and 6:00 pm
• Watering between the hours of 12:00 midnight and 4:00 am is restricted to automatic systems controlled by a timer and must comply with the following:

- Properties with even numbered houses are allowed to water on even numbered days; and
- Properties with odd numbered houses are allowed to water on odd numbered days.
- Owners with automated sprinkler systems, must register (annually) at the District office for permission to water between 12:00 midnight to 4:00 am. To register, please call the District of Clearwater at 250-674-2257.

Water Conservation: How can I conserve water for outside?
Water customers are encouraged to practice water conservation and some tips are as follows:
• Use a broom, rather than a hose to clean driveways and walkways.
• Consider plants species that require less water and don’t over water your lawn.
• Ensure sprinklers are set so that only lawn and gardens are being watered not the roadway.
• Consider using timed sprinklers – can be purchased at the local hardware stores.
• Eliminate leaks. A single 1/32” diameter leak on a hose or outdoor faucet can waste more than 6,000 gallons of water in a year
• Install a rain barrel for indoor and outdoor use
• To avoid evaporation, water during the early morning hours
• Water the soil, not the leaves and do not over water.
• Mow high. Keeping your grass at the upper recommended limit (about 2 inches for most species) will help shade the soil and prevent excessive evaporation.
How can I conserve water for inside?
• Regularly check your toilets, faucets, and pipes for leaks.
• Turn off the faucet when brushing your teeth or shaving.
• Install a faucet aerator on your kitchen and bathroom sinks.
• Rinse dishes, vegetables, and fruits in a partially filled basin rather than under running water.
• Replace your shower head with a water efficient, low-flow shower head or take 5-minute showers
• Install low-flow or dual-flush toilets.
• Wash only full loads in the dishwasher and washing machine.
• Keep a jug of water for drinking in the fridge to avoid running the tap until the water gets cold.
