Starting May 11, the construction of the new multi-use trail connecting Wyndhaven subdivision to the roundabout (Highway 5) starts. After initial clean up the sidewalk (Highway 5 to Eden Road) is placed May 25-29, the project is scheduled to be finalized June 12. The schedule may change due to weather conditions. Please expect lane closures or delays during the construction period. We will post on Facebook / Website when traffic interruptions / lane closures are planned.
A second trail will be constructed for better accessibility to Dutch Lake Beach. The work is scheduled to begin June 1 and is planned to finalize June 12. Access to the beach will be limited during this time.
The works to construct these two trails are funded by grants and the contract for the trails was tendered and awarded last fall to Borrow Enterprises. We are looking forward to more trails in our town to make it better accessible without car. Thank you to the Trails Task Force team (volunteers) for all their work on bringing these two projects to fruition!
