The District has completed multiple upgrades to the wastewater treatment process in recent years. The next upgrade is focused on ‘sludge’ management.
Sludge is a by-product of the treatment process and the amount of sludge generated has increased in recent years as a result of the increased sewage flows. The main challenges with the sludge are drying, storage, transport and environmental safety. Our goal is to improve each of these items with the proposed project.
The intent of the Open House is to educate residents on why the project is needed and seek feedback from residents on the proposed works.
By order of the Provincial Health Officer (March 11, 2021), we are unable to host an in-person meeting. However, you can attend the virtual open house via Zoom video conferencing.
The open house will be held: Monday, April 19, 2021, starting at 6:3pm.
