The Clearwater and Area Community Wildfire Preparedness Roundtable took place today, January 23 at the DLCC. Members from local government, various Ministries, Simpcw First Nation, Licencees within the Forest industry, local fire departments, RCMP, BC Wildfire Services, TNRD and BC Parks came together to discuss responsibilities around wildfire preparedness, to communicate their organizations level of engagement and to bring forward ideas and input. This kind of collaboration, especially in our area with limited capacity, will yield the best possible outcome during an emergency. The roundtable is an ongoing effort and will support the implementation of the Community Wildfire Protection Plan. Please take part in our survey to provide your input. It is imperative to know the level of involvement, level of knowledge and level of preparedness of our residents. Together we can make a real difference! For more info, click here.
