2024-07-31 – The District of Clearwater (District) requires Financial Audit services to be provided by a qualified accounting firm to audit the annual financial statements, as outlined in this document.
The required services are as specifically set out in section 5 (“Services”) and generally includes the following as applicable:
- Performing an annual audit in accordance with Canadian Generally Accepted Auditing standards (as defined by the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada) and with provisions of the Community Charter, which will include advice on internal controls and related procedures;
- Draft and finalize financial statements and with cooperation and assistance from the District’s finance staff.
- Attend meetings with District staff and Council as required for establishing the audit process and planning, executing and reporting on the audit of the financial statements;
- Discussing with and advising District staff on accounting and auditing issues that may arise during the year; and
- Discussing with and advising District staff on the implementation of new accounting standards as issued by the Public Sector Accounting Board from time to time.
The appointment of the external auditor is subject to Municipal Council approval. The District reserves the right to cancel this Request for Proposal, without obligation to any Proponent, should Council approval not be received.
