We are pleased to offer an opportunity for a Junior Arena Attendant at the North Thompson Sportsplex. This is a casual, on-call position supporting the day-to-day operation of the facility and providing a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for arena users.
The ideal candidate will have:
• Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Strong communication, customer service, and public relations skills.
• Experience working in a fast-paced, front-line environment.
• Experience with skating and curling ice maintenance, arena operations, building maintenance, custodial work, or grounds maintenance is an asset.
• Arena Ice Maker certification or equivalent arena operations training is an asset.
• Refrigeration Operator certification is an asset.
• First Aid CPR-C & AED certification is an asset.
• A valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team while maintaining a strong focus on safety and customer service.
• Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
Reporting through the Facilities, Parks and Arena department, the Junior Arena Attendant assists with the safe and efficient operation of the North Thompson Sportsplex. Duties include opening and closing the facility, providing customer service to arena users, setting up and dismantling equipment for scheduled activities and events, cleaning and maintaining arena facilities, monitoring facility safety, and assisting with seasonal ice installation, maintenance, and removal. Other related duties may be assigned based on operational requirements and experience.
This is a CUPE Local 900 bargaining unit with a pay rate of $27.84 per hour, plus in lieu of benefits, in accordance with the collective agreement. Hours of work will vary depending on facility schedules and programming.

We are pleased to offer an opportunity for a Deputy Corporate Officer position in our Corporate
Services department. This is a permanent full-time role reporting to the Chief Administrative
Officer.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Minimum of five years of related managerial experience in a public sector setting;
- Certificate, diploma or degree in Local Government Administration or equivalent work experience;
- Corporate Officer, Elections and/or legal training;
- Experience with I-Compass meeting management software and records management;
- Training in FOIPPA;
- Demonstrated excellent organization and communication skills;
- Training in computer sciences or related experience;
- Demonstrated contract management training or relevant experience.
Reporting directly to the Chief Administrative Officer, this position is a member of the senior management team, providing leadership to the District in the areas of legislation compliance, governance, communications, information technology and the environment.
This is an exempt management position with a competitive salary and benefit package. The salary will be between $80,000 and $89,000 based on relevant experience and education. The District has adopted an earned day off work schedule, which provides staff with an additional “earned day off” every second week. This position is primarily an in-office position.
