District of Clearwater Announces New Chief Administrative Officer
Clearwater, BC – July 30, 2024 – The District of Clearwater is pleased to announce the appointment of Byron Johnson as the new Chief Administrative Officer (CAO). Johnson, who brings extensive experience from his previous role as CAO in Quesnel, will officially begin his duties on October 15, 2024.
Mayor Merlin Blackwell is excited for the upcoming transition, stating, “We are thrilled to welcome Byron Johnson to the District of Clearwater. His proven track record as a CAO was precisely what Council was seeking in our recruitment process. We are confident that Byron’s expertise and leadership will be instrumental in continuing the significant work our team has initiated.”
During this transition period, Jason Johnson will continue to serve as the Interim CAO, ensuring a smooth handover and sustained momentum on the ongoing projects and initiatives. Jason has provided exemplary leadership and stability during his interim tenure, and his commitment to our community has been invaluable.
