2024-07-26 — The District of Clearwater is pleased to announce the appointment of Rod Tulett as our new Bylaw Enforcement Officer, effective immediately.
Rod brings over 25 years of experience in law enforcement in urban and rural settings. He has held positions with the City of Vancouver and more recently with Metro Vancouver Regional District where he was responsible for managing security, emergencies, criminal and bylaw investigations and enforcement activities across the region. He served on the board of the BC Crime Prevention Association for many years.
Upon retirement from Metro Vancouver in 2021, Rod moved to an acreage in Blackpool to grow hay for his horses. The Clearwater area has everything he deems important for semi-retirement, including wonderful residents, stores and services.
He was also active part-time in the Canadian Navy Reserve for 41 years as a Chief Petty Officer where he acted as a Regional Liaison Officer for Joint Task Force Pacific, liaising with civil authorities in British Columbia for response to disasters and emergencies.
Rod is committed to the Clearwater area, having been an active member of the Blackpool Fire Department since 2021, where he is a Captain and certified as a Local FireSmart Representative (LFR) and also acts as an executive member of the Royal Canadian Legion.
In this position, Rod aims to educate and engage the community on enforcement issues using a collaborative approach with an emphasis on impartiality and common sense. He looks forward to working closely with the RCMP, TNRD and area residents to continue to make Clearwater safe.
Honours include the Canadian Forces Decoration and Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal.
Please join us in welcoming Rod Tulett to the District of Clearwater and supporting him in his mission to provide a successful Bylaw Enforcement program.
