What's happening?
The District of Clearwater is updating its Official Community Plan (OCP) - the highest level land use planning document. Now more than 12 years old, the current OCP no longer reflects Clearwater’s evolving needs and priorities.
What is an OCP?
An OCP is a strategic long-range document that expresses the community’s shared vision for the future. It guides decision-making on growth, housing, land use, transportation, infrastructure, parks and recreation, environmental stewardship, economic development, and more. Through this update, the OCP will remain a relevant and effective tool to shape a resilient, vibrant and sustainable Clearwater.
1st Round of Community Engagement
Over the past few months, our consultant team hosted an open house, online survey, community pop-ups, business drop-ins, one-on-one meetings with Council, and focus group interviews. The feedback collected will help create an updated OCP that will truly reflect the community’s values, priorities, and vision for the future.
A “What We Heard” Report is now available, highlighting key community themes including housing, economic development, recreation, infrastructure, and the environment. Feedback from the first round of engagement has helped shape the draft directions for the OCP update. Read the What We Heard Report.
