The District of Clearwater Fire Department and the BC Wildfire Service have responded to a series of wildfires in and near the community over the past two days.
We’re pleased to share that all three wildfires are now under control:
-
K20095, located just outside District boundaries, has been listed as “Under Control” by the BC Wildfire Service. The fire was held to 0.1 hectares, thanks to a rapid response by BCWS.
-
A second fire on Burnell Forest Service Road, within District boundaries, was successfully brought under control by Clearwater Fire Department crews and is also classified as “Under Control.” While some smoke may still be visible in the area, the fire is contained and surrounded by a wet line. Fire crews will continue to monitor the site to ensure it remains fully contained.
-
A third fire that occurred the previous day was extinguished by the property owner shortly after it ignited.
The cause of all three wildfires remains under investigation, and we will share additional details when they become available from the appropriate agencies.
We want to extend a sincere thank you to our Clearwater Fire Department team, the BC Wildfire Service, and the local residents who remain alert and responsive to fire risks.
