🌳 Parks News

  • Yellow Flag Iris Control at Dutch Lake: Our efforts to manage the invasive Yellow Flag Iris have successfully covered 50% of Dutch Lake’s shoreline this year. While the bright yellow flowers may look attractive, Yellow Flag Iris is a harmful invasive species that can disrupt aquatic ecosystems and outcompete native plants. Residents are encouraged to continue picking the flowers where safe to do so. Since they’ve now gone to seed, please dispose of them in the garbage—not compost or green waste.

Single-lane traffic will remain open during most of the repaving project, expected to last several weeks. Stay tuned for more details!
  • New Wayfinding Signage: Public Works crews are installing attractive, user-friendly signage thanks to the Rural Communities Development Grant. These signs feature trail maps and directional guides, making exploring Clearwater and Wells Gray Park even easier!

  • Pothole Repairs: Crews are out tackling potholes across the District to keep our roads safe and smooth.
  • Dry Well Maintenance: Scheduled to begin in early August, ensuring our stormwater system operates efficiently and remains debris-free.
