Fire Department

Be sure to keep an eye on the BC Wildfire status updates for our area!

Current status: Ban on Category 2 & 3 fires.

Campfires no larger than 0.5 metres wide/high are acceptable for recreation purposes.

Be sure to fully extinguish all embers before leaving the fire.

Before you burn:

  • Check current fire danger ratings
  • Review any active prohibitions or restrictions
  • Check the venting index
  • Avoid burning during windy conditions

Burn Safely:

Always have proper tools and water on hand to control your fire. Failure to follow regulations may result in fines or enforcement action.

What’s Happening in Public Works…

Road sweeping, pothole filling, and winter clean-up is still underway! Thanks for your patience.

We are preparing for the calcium application to the gravel roads and line painting and roadside mowing will commence shortly.

Water main and hydrant flushing is still happening around town- water flow may fluctuate.

Short-term Rental Update

We launched the STR Provisional Business License and Temporary Use Permit Application last week and are already processing applications!
