Sept. 9, 2022 – CAO Announcement: New Hire
After seven months of searching and four recruitment cycles, the District of Clearwater is very pleased to announce the appointment of Chad Carmichael as the new Director of Operations and Infrastructure. Chad’s appointment will be effective Oct. 1, 2022.
Chad joins the District at a critical moment in its evolution. I am confident he will be a great addition to the team given his considerable leadership and field experience, training, and temperament. Over the last 17 years, Chad served as a Senior Project Manager for an engineering firm supporting local governments and their project delivery programs. He has also served in graphics, project designs, and engineering technologist capacities within the City of Red Deer and the City of Langley.
The Director of Operations and Infrastructure is a key member of the Senior Leadership Team which leads the Public Works, Arena, and Facilities departments. This role leads many functions that are critical to the success of the community including, but not limited to, overseeing water and wastewater utilities, facilities development, capital projects management, and community infrastructure renewal. Notwithstanding the lengthy recruitment search, filling this role means the ongoing capacity challenges the District has experienced over the past seven months will be eased greatly.
“I am excited to take on a new role as Director of Operations and Infrastructure and looking forward to life in Clearwater. My entire career has been in municipal engineering but mostly in the private sector. There is a great staff at the District of Clearwater that cares very much for the community, and I am excited to become a part of it.” — Chad Carmichael, Director of Operations and Infrastructure
Please join me in welcoming Chad to the District and supporting him within the community.
