2026-01 Front Desk -ICBC-MV Clerk Mat Leave
The District of Clearwater is seeking a friendly, detail-oriented Front Desk Clerk to join our Finance Department on a temporary full-time basis to cover maternity and parental leave. The anticipated term of this position is February 2026 to approximately October 2027
Position Overview
Reporting to the Director of Finance through the Supervisor of ICBC, Driver Licensing, and Customer Service, the Front Desk Clerk is a key member of the District’s front-line customer service team. This role is critical in delivering excellent customer service while assisting customers with ICBC Insurance, Driver Licensing, permits, payments, and other District services
Key Responsibilities

Provide courteous and professional customer service to residents, businesses, and visitors

Process ICBC insurance, driver’s licence applications, renewals, and related services

Collect and process payments, ensuring accuracy and compliance with ICBC policies

Perform general office and administrative duties, including answering phones, emails, filing, and scheduling appointments

Maintain confidentiality of client information and financial transactions

Support continuous improvement initiatives and complete other related duties as assigned
Qualifications & Experience

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent

Minimum two (2) years’ experience in an office or fast-paced customer service environment

Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy

Proven customer service and communication skills

Experience with ICBC and Motor Vehicle Services is preferred
- Completion of Autoplan Essentials, Fraud Detection, and other ICBC-required courses is considered an asset
Hours, Rate & Benefits

Temporary Full-Time, In-Office Position

Monday to Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm

Hourly rate: $30.16, plus benefits as per the CUPE collective agreement

Participation in the District’s pilot flexible “fortnight” schedule, offering an earned day off every second week

Successful completion of a Police Information Check is required
