The District of Clearwater is hiring an Administrative and Communications Assistant to provide key front desk, administrative, and communications support across the organization. This is a temporary full-time position covering maternity and parental leave, with an estimated term February 2026 through March 2027.
Key responsibilities include:

Reception/front counter services and responding to public inquiries

Administrative support to the Director of Corporate Services and Council/Committee meeting preparation

Communications support including drafting public notices, media releases, social media content, website updates, newsletters, and print materials
Hours & compensation

Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm (35 hours/week), in-office

Hourly rate: $32.03 (2026: $33.31)

The District is currently piloting an optional biweekly “fortnight” schedule with an earned day off every second week
Qualifications (summary)

Completion of Grade 12 (or equivalent) required

Office Administration / MS Office coursework considered an asset

Administrative experience (local government preferred), minimum typing speed 50 wpm
