Open Burning Reminder

  • Open burning within the District of Clearwater must follow BC Wildfire Service (BCWS) regulations.

What’s allowed?

  • Category 1 fires (campfires) are permitted unless a prohibition is in place
  • Category 2 and 3 fires require a valid District permit

Before you burn:

  • Check current fire danger ratings
  • Review any active prohibitions or restrictions
  • Check the venting index
  • Avoid burning during windy conditions

Burn safely:
Always have proper tools and water on hand to control your fire. Failure to follow regulations may result in fines or enforcement action.

Parks:

Parks Season is Here!

  • All District parks and washrooms are now open for the season—get out and enjoy them!
  • These spaces belong to everyone, so please be respectful of other users.
  • Dogs are welcome in most parks—just remember to clean up after your pet.
  • All parks are smoke- and alcohol-free.

Beach Updates
You’ll notice a few new safety features at the beach:

  • A life jacket lending program—please return jackets after use
  • A rope with buoys added at the drop-off area
  • Beach water testing begins in May and continues weekly until September.

Capostinsky Ballpark Improvements

  • Upgrades to the bleachers and infields are underway. Fields may be temporarily closed at times, with all work scheduled to be completed before the May Day weekend tournament.
